| Switzerland | CBD only | Pilot trials (Art. 8a BetmG) Switzerland authorises time-limited scientific pilot trials for the regulated non-medical sale of cannabis under Article 8a of the Narcotics Act and the BetmPV ordinance. Sales are limited to registered adult participants, advertising is prohibited, and every point of sale needs trained staff and full traceability. Around 10,400 participants are enrolled across seven authorised trials (Basel-Stadt, Bern, Biel, Lausanne, Lucerne, Vernier, Zurich). The framework runs until 14 May 2031 while the national Cannabis Products Act (CanPG) proceeds through parliament. |
